5PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Our rural location is poorly served with public transport. The nearest railway station is Whitchurch. 10 miles south on the A41. Chester station is 11 miles north on the A41. Taxis are available from both stations. There is a bus service from Chester which stops at the Broxton roundabout, 1.6 miles away, though the walk to the cottages is on a narrow A road with no footpath in places. Ideally guests arrive by car or on foot (if walking the Sandstone Trail).
6WI-FI AND MOBILE
Our broadband is superfast fibre-optic to the end of the lane, which then gives us around 30mb. It was 50mb last year but hey, progress is progress! Still 30mb is good enough to stream Netflix etc if you have your own account. There are smart tv's in both cottages. Mobile signal in the area is iffy, yet most of the delivery drivers seem to be able to get a signal. The best way is to use wi-fi calling on a smartphone. Guests may use our landline if they need to.
