Guest Information for Dogs!

We welcome canine companions to Sandstone Trail Cottages. We have dogs ourselves and know how much we all enjoy our time on the hills and wonderful countryside surrounding us. To make it easy for everyone we have tips for dogs. See below.

Dogs need to be booked in just like human guests and we charge £25 per dog stay. To make their stay more enjoyable (and yours) we provide the following:

  • Enclosed garden for each cottage
  • A dog bowl and treats
  • A guide to walks from the door
  • Dog crate available
  • Throws for covering the furniture
  • Outside warm shower
  • Pet towels
  • Poop bags
  • Collar tag with our telephone number on it
  • Emergency leads to use if you have forgotten yours.
  • A guide to dog friendly pubs (lots of!)
  • Laundry facilities for muddy towels.

Tips for dogs

On arrival please keep your dog on a lead whilst you unpack and get your bearings.

There may be other dogs and guests on site so you must keep your dogs on a lead around the driveway and cottages.

Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms. Please use the throws provided, if your dog goes on the sofas. The cottages have a door or stair gate to control where they go. We will levy an extra cleaning charge if they have been on the beds or on uncovered sofas and any damage will have to be paid for.

See below for details of many dog friendly pubs and restaurants so that your dog can be with you as much as possible. If you wish to leave your dog in the cottage please ask for a crate if you think it will provide security and control.

Each garden is enclosed so that you can relax outside with them.
